Confused by Coochie

Blakroc - Coochie (feat Ludacris and ODB)

This song is crazy good. Amazing that ODB can still lay it down from beyond the grave, clearly the best dead rapper still producing music.

This Song is Hard, Like Seriously

I didn't think Big Pun had it in him, this song is serious. Too bad I only now learned of its existence.

For 2010

The release of this song isn't supposed to occur until Februrary 2010 but here it is. Sort of a remix of a song that I've posted here before (White Town - Your Woman) with a grunge/dance feel, it is great.

Top 10 Singles of 2009

Vetiver - More of This.

There is a Neighbors Remix of this song that I prefer but is not up on YouTube, so this is close enough.

This song has a real relaxed vibe yet holds your attention. It is perfect folk-pop.

Throughout the latter half of 2009, The XX have become one of my favorite groups. Listening to their self-titled album makes me feel similar to how I feel when I listen to Interpol - Turn On the Bright Lights, pleasantly depressed.

Though I've never really listened much to the original version of this song, The XX cover with the synth harp sounds and more somber feel is just perfect.

Yo La Tengo - Periodically Double and Triple

Haven't listened to this band in years, but if they could put out an album of stuff like this I would listen to them all the time. Unfortunately Popular Songs doesn't appear to contain such consistency. Still a fantastic single and pretty cool video to boot.

Mark Pritchard & Om'Mas Keith - Wind it Up

I don't think I really need to comment on why this song is so great, just listen.

This song has a very exciting build up and the kid chorus section just gives it a really interesting sound. Though the entire album this song is on is great, this song in particular has graced my ears the most, plus Benji B played it on his 2009 round-up show, so it is legit.

The Fruit Bats - The Ruminant Band

Can't really explain why I like this song, it is just really catchy. The lyrics are great and the video is strangely awesome.

Tim and Jean - Come Around

These dudes are both under 20 I think. This song reminds of 20 year-olds imitating Justice, like Justice Jr., there is a certain immaturity and happiness to this song.

Operation Aloha - Failure

I've listened to this song a countless number of times, the lyrics are fantastic and when the chorus kicks in it just has a great feeling. Great song, mediocre album.

Claude Von Stroke - Monster Island

I wish I went to crubs so I could hear this song on a banging system, love the bassline.

Dam Funk - Hood Pass Intact

Keep your hood pass intact because you might go back. This is some straight west coast shit even though I don't really know what that means, it seems like a phrase often used to describe this song and Dam Funk in general. Remember funk isn't a fad, its a way of life.

Thank you 2009, welcome 2010.

The Tiger

I've been hearing a lot of really good dance music with partly Spanish lyrics, there is something about that language that just flows really well. This girl is on Mad Decent and I need to get this album.

Classic Remixes of a Classic

Heard this first one on the Hudson Mohawke Essential Mix

Heard that Jazzy Jeff was going to do a Michael Jackson tribute mix soon, definitely looking forward to that.

Another Classic

When Mike Pickering starts playing this on the Hacienda special I always get really excited, love this song.

Heard You Calling

Heard this song on a Joy Division/New Order mix. I think I've heard it before on the Hacienda Essential Mix, anyways its great and I wish I lived in Manchester in the 80's so I could have gone and partied at the Hacienda in its salad days.
